as you're vanishing in silence (english)
This stands out from most other Cold Meat Industry releases in that there is little reliance on electronic modes of producing music; the instruments used are violin, flute and piano accompanied by (male and female) vocals. The synth is used only occasionally. But like most other Cold Meat Industry releases, there is a strong focus on the creation of atmosphere and distaste for conventional verse-chorus-verse song structures. The dominant mood on this album is one of contemplative melancholia, reminiscent of bands on the Dark Symphonies label, most notably Maudlin of the Well. The vocals are pretty decent, but muted; presumably this is deliberately intended as a means of adding to the atmosphere. Not only is the synth seldom used, it is also subordinate to the other instruments -- yet I can't help but wonder whether this album would have been better off with just analogue instruments. This is definitely not an album for head banging; nor can it be seen as purely "wallpaper" music like label mates Raison d'Être. This is the kind of music that is best enjoyed in solitude with a glass of fine red.

For the die-hard adulator of the gloom-shrouded industrial slaughter house of Cold Meat Industry you could be excused for tripping upon All My Faith Lost… with the rumination of why exactly is an eidolon of utopist Greece doing in the middle of a butcher barn, let alone why it whispers, 'Come close my Lover'. So broaches the stillness this hushed beckoning cradled in glazed pianoforte. It quickly becomes apparent that the album is not the familiar demesne of the dark industrialised fane one expects, more something which is in line with Cruel Moon International’s (pun on an acronym to the uninitiated) folk offerings. The music unfolds sparse and doleful, swimming strains of evanescent umbrage, softened synth masquerading as cello shimmer in motes of light under the haunting poetry of Viola and Frederico. A majority of the tracks are without percussion, metered only by the prominent, classically arpeggiated acoustic guitar or the pellucid pianoforte. Frederico and Viola both solo and syncopate tracks between each other, her voice rasping delicate susurrations while his wavers spoken word to baritone serenades. Steeped in reverie, All My Faith Lost… would not good company beside ethereal beauty from the Projekt label, acts such as Black Tape for a Blue Girl and Love Spirals Downwards yet this album retains its European accent in the melodic medieval strains that intimate subtle antiquity not found in the Americas. The instrumentation is polished yet not spectacular or experimental; the only other natural instrument being Viola’s fluting which breathes similar lull to her vocal song. Cold Meat Industry purists may be pleasantly surprised to find that Peter Anderson mastered the album. Released as a digipak for the first 1000 copies.

All my faith lost is a discreet italian duet formed by Viola and Federico in 1999, but that originally included two other musicians - Francis and Rafaella which both decided to let the band - taken into account Francis recently left it ... just after the preparation made on Chamber music . Musically defined by a lush melt of neoclassical, folk and heavenly influences, the band has been well-acclaimed thanx to several early works - from 'Hollow Hills' you could also download for free thanx to the courtesy of the band on their official site - to 'In a sea, in a lake, in a river' unfortunatly sold out , but originally released through Nail records - that could be seen as a gathering of various delicate visionary journeys into onirical lands - inhabited by imaginary fairy creatures out of time, the ones you dreamt of when being a child hidden into your granny's dusty cellar or lonely in your bedroom, place of magnificent neverending tales , folk country legends and mythologies which constantly are renewed through the kaleidoscope of soul and spirit. There's strangely something from Gerard De Nerval's poetic universes - especially thinking of 'Les filles du feu' contents and context - from the topical themes of the preraphaelites flowing through All my faith lost songs, stories. Also deeply inspired by poetry and literature - Keats for 'La belle dame sans merci', James Joyce for 'Chamber music', the previous unreleased first album due to copyright problems that compelled the band to re-write the lyrics of their finally out first lp 'As you're vanishing in silence' - all my faith lost develops deep ,soften and definitly very sweet autumnal atmospheres, as a kinda resignation, a reserved and intimate glance over the world, as coming from a out of sight refuge. These feelings born from the fragile but evocative and touching Viola heavenly vocals,as gentle as a leaf on the fresh rainy air, from Federico tactful and refined accompaniment, from these successive deeply melancholic tapestries made of reserved soundscapes - painted with acoustic classical guitars and beautiful arpeggios, flut, unobstrusive keyboards, piano laments, complaining violins, and well-felt arrangments - from this unique way of whispering that veils heart and haunts the halls of memories through ballads and lullabies - 'As you're vanishing in silence' tells us about stories of lost love, solitude, bitter pain and souvenirs lived in silent cold days, nightful remembrances through dante's language and Shakespeare's. Furthermore, All my faith lost' s music had something of the sad smile of La Gioconda, of the last breath and last look on life when walking on the last path. 'As you're vanishing in silence', released by Cold Meat Industry is certainly the most meaningful, intense and tearful album I ever listened to in these first months of 2005. I highly recommand it to everyone that would like or need to drown into some reserved musical moments but not if into a too depressive mood as it flows through this album something as an endless miserable and sorrowful mal-de-vivre that could really let yourselves be moved. At last but not least, I'd like to underline the really refined aesthetical work made by Federico on the booklet and visuals of the album that also made of it a nice pleasant objet.
Hats off !

Undici bellissime tracce, tra le quali adoro “Rain has fallen all the day”, “Triste quiete” e “Sleep now”.

Bravi e professionali.

All My Faith Lost is one of the latest acquisition of the Cold Meat Industry catalogue, already tasted towards the end of 2004 with a track on the double CD sampler "Flowers Made Of Snow". The band comes from Italy and is to file under ethereal folk music, a genre which seems to have fascinated mr. Karmanik a lot, at least since the acquisition of Ataraxia by his label. The duo consists of Viola and Federico, who compose and play all the music using a minimal instrumentation made of flutes, piano, violin, guitars and synths. Notes and chords are so delicate and impalpable that they sound like each instrument was caressed and grazed, rather than played. The band is able to create great depressing atmospheres using thin and apparently simple song structures. The CD is introduced by a short and fragile piano song, "Come Close My Lover", which reminds immediately the Current 93 of "Soft Black Stars". The following "Your Silent Tears" melts violin and acoustic guitars in a refined and involving hymn of sadness. Touching "Rain Has Fallen All The Day" is build around a cold and minimal synth theme, strings, and both crystal-like male and female vocals. These are just examples of the kind of sound and atmospheres you are expected to find in the microcosmos of All My Faith Lost. "As You're Vanishing In Silence" is preferably to be listened in its full length and to be given your whole concentration, otherwise you will fail to get inside their music and be charmed by its delicate fragrance. This is definitely not to be played as background noise while cleaning the house. Listeners and lovers of the more sophisticated and refined ethereal sound can write down this name, for surely it will spread far. A proof of this is that "As You're Vanishing In Silence" is released by Cold Meat Industry, and is also the very first CD by a non-Scandinavian band to get the CMI. catalogue number! If you enjoyed Ataraxia, Gothica, Ordo Equitum Solis and the Projekt school of Black Tape For A Blue Girl, then your heart won't escape the dark charm of All My Faith Lost. The only slightly disappointing aspect of this release is the package: while the digipack is luxurious and beautiful as usual, the images chosen (all potraing the band and assorted goth clothing) are not quite matching the high standars of Cold Meat Industry releases.

These are the sounds I like best from Cold Meat Industry: dark, melancholy, moody, gloomy and tranquil. In short, All My Faith Lost has produced a beautiful album. The sound of this band is dominated by acoustic instruments. What you will hear are down-tempo melodies played on piano, violin, guitar and flute. These sounds are supported by subtle synthesizer sounds. While listening to As Your’re Vanishing In Silence you will enter another state of mind. For a moment the world just stops. It is as if you enter a sphere of total tranquility. No more words could describe or explain this. So, just stop reading, get this record and listen. Happy dreaming...

I first heard a selection from this album on the Cold Meat Industry label's double-cd sampler Flowers Made Of Snow. The selection was "Sleep Now" and after hearing it I picked up this album and have heard it several times over and enjoy every minute of it. If you've heard the sampler I refer to, then you've heard something from this group. While the referenced track is incredible itself, the entire album pretty much defies description and has to be experienced. "Come Close My Love" kicks off the album with a beautiful piano piece and whispered vocals draped over a backdrop of beautiful synths and strings. This tapestry provides the setting for many of the selections on this album as it drifts through a number of melancholy pieces with eleven tracks in all. The mixture of alternating male and female vocals provide a soft ethereal masterpiece. Federico takes the lead as vocalist on songs like "Your Silent Tears", "She Came To Me" and "Disclose Your Eyes". These tracks show how ethereal male vocals can be captivating and smooth and provide an incredible mood combined with this type of minimal music with acoustic guitar and beautiful piano. Fans of the soft female-fronted ethereal music will also enjoy this album with the incredible selections that Viola provides her vocals. When I first heard "Rain Has Fallen All The Day" I was spellbound and held captive by her siren-like vocals. But once I got to "All Day I Hear Your Voice", all hope was lost. I knew I was hopelessly hypnotized by this duo's incredible talents. The melancholy nature of the simple and minimalistic style on this track is incredible with the soft synths and strings in the background, the s oft plucked guitar and the vocals smoothly layered over it all for something truly spectacular. This album is something that people who love the minimalistic nature of Faith & Disease and the romantic elements of Gothica will enjoy. It's definitely worth tracking down and picking up and cherishing for a very long time.

All My Faith Lost consists of Viola and Federico and make beautiful songs. For this they use various acoustic instruments like a flute, piano and violin. The music they make could be compared to other Italian projects like Chirleison, Gothica or Ordo Equitum Solis but also with some of the music of the Projekt or The Fossil Dungeon label. This is a very nice cd to relax with. Down volumed ethereal music, that also doesn’t rock you asleep. It hits exactly the right snare. Viola sometimes sings with a whispering voice, and Federico brings in the warm sound his voice has and this sounds very pure and almost seductive in combination with the yet lively music. The atmosphere of the music perfectly reflects the fairy world that plays a role in the folklore of almost every European country. This is beautiful.

All My Faith Lost charme par son habileté à atteindre l'essentiel.

Released on the Cold Meat Industry label, All My Faith Lost's new CD is a brilliant mix of acoustic instruments and synths, with songs that are packed with beauty, intensity, and melancholia.
With the release of "As You're Vanishing in Silence", Italian band All My Faith Lost has sparked, what I hope is, a revolutionary approach in developing the relationship between acoustic instrumentation within the wide-ranging electronic music scene. Now this sounds like a bold statement to make. And it is, but only because this is a courageous album in the sense that it is both deeply personal and artistically sincere, all the while shaking away the current musical trends. This CD also questions the notion of power and intensity, simply by relegating the electronic contributions to the background, where the more human aspects of instrument and voice carry the brunt of the musical responsibility. It is because of these aspects that the great label CMI chose to release this CD in the first place, even though the label is mostly known for its dark ambient and electronic noise releases. Federico and Viola, who are both responsible for the lyrical content, also share the lead vocal duties. The vocals are used like instruments, in that they are whispered and subdued, so that the narrative becomes secondary to the texture and tone. The synths are used to fill out the overall sound, but the acoustic guitar, flute, piano, violin, and viola are the true driving forces. Mastered by Peter Andersson, this CD is for times of solitude and quiet introspection that will take you far away from the madding crowd.

I knew these Italians for not such a long time, but still enough to dig their work a little more. First, I'm telling that newest release had been so patiently prepared and in the end gave good result. It is slow, silent, whispered... admirable. Great vocal lines and really fascinating melodies, being on guitar, keys, violin... No stress here, only meant for diving you into the spheres of extensive solitude, long thinking and finally a calm end. Very enjoyable lyrics, very well thoughtout part on the album as well... This may not go for everyone, but I just felt tired of all the annoying bands around, so All My Faith Lost came like a perfect group for this moment.

We have met the Italians in question in Cold Meat’s recent delectable collection “Flowers made of snow”, while some may remember them from their few participations in music collections of magazines of the gothic field. Relatively remote from the musical style that the Swedish company of cosmo-terror has been invariably entertaining, ALL MY FAITH take delight in melancholic tunes, basing their pessimism on acoustic sounds originating mostly from the acoustic guitar and the piano and less from the violin, the flute and the synths that play a secondary part. Viola (the name of the female singer) and Federico share the vocals, both of them moving in nerveless scales, their ulterior goal of which is the sensitive side of the listener. The almost simple material convince us for its romantic wills and in no way can it be characterized as kitsch, but it needs further improving in order to stand side by side with ATARAXIA worthily (at least in their recent acoustic musical period of the Italians) or AION SOPH that are also mentioned as an influence of theirs. Their tactic (enough sorrow to classify them in the commercial bands of the atmospheric music, but not enough “blackness” if we want to talk about a new revelation of Cold Meat) inevitably puts the triad (include the aforementioned as well as Francis/Guitar/Piano/Synthe) in the promising crews that will probably trouble us pleasantly in the future. I hope this will happen and that they will not vanish in silence as indicated by the title of the album.

All right, from Italy comes this band named All My Faith Lost..., and with a name like this, what music style could you expect? Since we have mostely Metal reviews here, you'd probably figure them as a Doom Metal band, right? Well, their style has nothing to do with Metal, really, which is fine because we're also interested in other genres like Atmospheric music, for example. Well these kinds of bands are also hard to label, as far as the music genre comes. I usually just describe them as Atmospheric because that covers a lot of areas, and only afterwards I get into the music itself, specially the instruments. As I read the bio sheet that came with this album entitled "As you're Vanishing in Silence", I felt that it described the music perfectly, which makes my task here a little harder. Nonetheless, what matters is that more people can discover what this band is all about, regardless of the person who said or wrote it. All My Faith Lost... is a two person band, Viola and Frederico. The music is very calm and it paints a perfect landscape of something tragic, yet beautiful at the same time. The vocals are both male and female, and they are mostely whispered, which enlightens even more the dark gloomy feeling of the album. There are several instruments, but all acoustic, which doesn't come as a surprise at all, given the fact that they almost seem to intend to seduct the listener with their melodies. For such purpose you have guitars, flute, piano and even some violins. There are two ways that one can go when listening to this album. You either lack yourself in words due the music which sometimes can be even hypnotic, or you feel like speaking your heart out with memories from your life, solitude, missing of a loved one, whatever comes to mind, really, there's no boundaries if you just let yourself go. I guess I'm somewhere in between, don't really want to remind myself of tragic moments which unfortunately I've delt with a couple of times in the past, but that's just the road one must take when listening to "As you're Vanishing in Silence".

When All My Faith Lost does a gig, you can bet there is no pit involved. In fact, I’d be surprised if any of the “guests” (as opposed to drunken, sweaty fans) even leave their seats. Not only is this band not metal, it’s not even remotely heavy. That doesn’t mean that metal fans that have a taste for unusual music from other genres won’t find As You’re Vanishing In Silence appealing though, as sometimes completely non-metal stuff is more appreciated around here than the not-quite metal bands. All My Faith Lost is an Italian duo that plays gentle and ethereal acoustic material consisting of guitar, flute, violin, piano, and a bit of synth, and includes no percussion of any kind. Calling this music mellow is on par with saying the Pope is a little under the weather--this is background music for studying/working, going to sleep, or trying to ride out an anxiety attack. The instrumentation is often sparse and quiet, but more frequently intricately layered. The vocals are evenly split between the male and female members, although one or the other sometimes plays a more prominent role on any given song. The fragile compositions develop and swell, becoming more intense and interwoven, almost like Isis overdosed on Percoset, poetry, and Windam Hill. Without question, As You’re Vanishing In Silence is artsy as hell, and some will also find it annoyingly pretentious. To wit, some of the band’s past work has been based on the poetry of James Joyce and John Keats. I wouldn’t recommend that anyone buy this without first checking out the mp3 samples available at Cold Meat Industry’s website. At nearly an hour long, few will be able to get through As You’re Vanishing In Silence in a single sitting. Still, this is an interesting selection as a palate cleansing album, and if nothing else you can use it to try to trick your family into thinking you’re a highbrow artistic type, rather than a belligerent, knuckle dragging heathen. But we all know differently, don’t we?

Neues Blut strömt in die Adern von Cold Meat Industry, was sich mit Erscheinen des Labelsamplers "Flowers made of Snow" schon abzeichnete. Die erste Veröffentlichung der Neuzugänge ist das Album "As you're vanishing in silence" der aus Italien stammenden ALL MY FAITH LOST ... . Album voller Erwartungen in meinen CD-Player. Durchlauf dazu verleiten den knapp eineinhalb-minütigen einfallslosen 'aaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaa'- Gesang am Ende von "She came to me" zu skippen.

Premier opus officiel du duo italien All My Faith Lost, "As You’re Vanishing In Silence" offre une collection de chansons sensibles et acoustiques.

as you're vanishing in silence< (english)br> As You’re Vanishing In Silence is Italian duo All My Faith Is Lost…’s first proper outing, having previously been released only on CDR and compilations. Yet the maturity, depth and richness of their sound suggest a long-time musical partnership, as they gently compose ethereal, solitary melancholia with haunting, gothic overtones. Delicate acoustics are intertwined with strings, synths and woodwinds, along with lilting vocals and regular spoken word, creating a post-classical mix of sombre poetry and mournful compositions. Lyrics alternate between English and Italian, but consistently maintain a beautiful sadness conducive to late night reflections. The darkness-associated fragility would interest fans of Ain Soph, Gothica, Eva O, Rachel’s and various Projekt artists, though fans of Cold Meat’s harsher industrialists may find little in common with the duo.

if you have read the review I did of the FLOWERS MADE OF SNOW sampler you will remember that precisely ALL MY FAITH LOST... was the only band I raised an objection to, what I exactly said was "melancholic and sleepy folk with guitar, flute, cello and voice; a little insipid track I would say" and I must more or less maintain my opinion, but making clear now that fortunately this is only a lesser evil, I explain it better: this record has some excellent aspects, firstly starting with the nude and pure emotion of the music and moments of doubtless beauty, beauty in the company of melancholy, with piano, guitar and voices as protagonists of a very simple music where the notes and the silence are almost equally important; the rest of instruments make the music more rich; more smooth in some moments (the flutes), more intense in others (the strings) or ethereal and dark (the synths); together with the whispering voices and those beautiful melodies that here and there appears to become frontal attraction, and this people have talent for this, since some of these sudden or waited melodies are marvellous, specially with the guitars. I used before the term folk but maybe this is not the best word, this is more just (acoustic) music with guitar, piano... But then come the problems: with such a nude and simple proposal often the resources used are not enough and the tracks become diluted or simply boring, sometimes you can use the same few notes in the same track, but some others not... and the voices... let's say that at times they lack a little definition..., With all the faults I thank the purity and the melancholic emotion present in their sound, it is totally sincere and in specific moments the music is really magnificent, but maybe I have needed too many listenings to appreciate it (something not bad at all) and generous indulgence to ignore all those defectiveness (and this is not so good...).

as you're vanishing in silence (english)
This is the official debut-cd of the Italian duo All My Faith Lost. It’s a quite unusual release on CMI, but definitely a great one. AMFL moves miles away from the usual dark ambient horrorscapes of the CMI-bands to explore refined fields full of sad ballads. The main mood of the band is for sure dark, but it has been composed with such great serenity. They mainly use an acoustic guitar, a flute, a piano and a violin to create their stylish melancholic songs. The spooky female way of singing has been constantly intermixed by the clear and enigmatic male vocals. AMFL explores different horizons, which can be now into certain forms of neo-classical (cf. “Your silence tears”), but mostly into sensitive dark ballads full of sadness. The “Triste quiete”- track is definitely a little jewel. There’s such a sensibility emerging from the song that really catches the listener. It’s just a beautiful piece of music! It’s for sure one of the first times a band seems like embracing and loving that much the melancholic side of life. It’s not tormenting at all, but just enlightening like darkness can be beautiful as well! This is simply a masterpiece! (DP:9)DP.

Gegen diese fällt All My Faith Is Lost schon etwas ab.
